Lt Col Guerrero was an active duty officer serving as a senior military faculty at the Air Force Academy at the time of his passing.
He served as a recruiter and maintenance officer before becoming an instructor at the Air Force Academy in 2004.
Camilo loved animals, nature and being outside and an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

Camilo was a loving husband, dedicated father, loyal son, supportive brother, caring uncle, great friend to all, and outstanding Air Force officer, leader and mentor.
Throughout his life, Camilo remained courageous and optimistic and was a constant source of inspiration to his family, friends, colleagues and cadets.
He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1992.
He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1996.
Camilo received a Master’s Degree from the University of Arizona in 2002 and a PhD from the University of Texas in 2010.
