Summary:
Mark entered the Air Force in December 1989 as an Airman First Class. Upon completion of the Fighter Aircraft Maintenance School, he served as a dedicated F-16 Crew Chief. He then retrained as a C-130H Flight Engineer.
He was accepted to Officer Training and received a commission as a Second Lieutenant.
His most recent assignment was Airfield Operations Flight Commander, 366th Operations Support Squadron at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho.
As dedicated as he was in his career; he was an even more dedicated father. Mark loved spending time with his family and doing activities with his children.
He was the kind of man that would stop to help someone no matter how big of a hurry he was in.
He is truly missed by all that knew him.
Life Achievements/ Recognitions:
In 1987 Mark graduated from Harbor Creek High School and was active in the Boy Scouts, marching band, and was captain of the swim team.
He graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Aeronautics. He was recognized as a Distinguished Graduate from the NCO Academy, Officer Training School and Airfield Operations Officer School.
As a C-130 Flight Engineer, Mark accumulated over 1300 hours, 137 combat hours and 125 combat support hours.
His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (Posthumously), Air Medal, Aerial Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters, and Air Force Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters.
Mark was active in his church as Treasurer of the Parish Council, running the sound equipment during church services, teaching an adult Bible study, and helping to coordinate church fellowship activities.
Hobbies:
Mark enjoyed martial arts, fishing, hiking, camping and riding his motorcycle.
