Summary:

Clark was assigned to Fort Carson’s 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.

He joined the Army in August 2004 and went on two tours in Iraq.

“He was always so motivated,” said Sgt. 1st Class Edward Maldonado, who served with Clark. “You could tell it rubbed off onto other soldiers. . . . He would sort of become their role model because no matter what the situation was, he would always make it seem like it wasn’t as bad as most soldiers would see it to be.”

Life Achievements/ Recognitions:

Mike received a medal for a February incident in which he pulled four soldiers from a Humvee that had been attacked and hit by an IED.

He also received two Army Commendation Medals and other decorations.

He was accepted into Army Ranger School school.

Hobbies:

Mike loved riding dirt bikes and owned a custom-built motorcycle and a 1986 Mustang GT as well as snowboarding and mountain biking.
